People History Customers Say Rossland, BC
|
Rossland is
a beautiful Alpine City located in the heart of the Kootenays of British
Columbia, Canada. Rossland is
known for its adventurous world-class skiing at Red Mountain, challenging mountain
biking and a small-town friendliness that causes visitors to return
to Rossland again and again.
|
|

A town for all ages, Rosslanders
have a sense of amusement and enjoyment of good times. During the
annual Winter Carnival events, there are bobsled races, relay races,
luge and snow volleyball, just to mention a few of the events. |
 |
|
The immediate area boasts several golf courses,
cross-country skiing areas and trails, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, lakes, hot
springs of every sort, camping, hiking, fine dining and shopping -- a diverse recreational
mecca.
As well, the history of Rossland and the surrounding area is rich and
interesting to locals and visitors alike. Rossland's quiet sophistication
and small town friendliness has captured the
hearts of and become home to people from all over
the world.
If you are visiting, we encourage you
to relax in the slower pace of the Kootenays and take
a stroll or a drive to feel and experience our special little corner of this
busy world. In summer, perhaps you'd enjoy a visit to the Rossland
Mining Museum and a tour of the LeRoi Mine, a Gold Fever Follies
performance, a short hike to view
Rossland and the Columbia River or a bike ride on our challenging trails.
In winter, the perfect day may include a day of alpine or cross-country skiing, a hot
tub soak and a fine meal that evening.

Rossland is a small family community of about 3,800 residents and a variety of activities for
all ages. Overall, Rossland is a resort community like no other. |

The Cellar, on Columbia Avenue,
between the Credit Union and Ferraro's grocery store. |
"The
only thing I know for sure is that the spirit of Rosslanders -- their energy,
good humor and great sense of hospitality -- is unmatched anywhere I've ever
traveled. Every time I come here, it feels like I've come home.
Every time I leave, I feel like I'm leaving another piece of my heart
behind." Michel Beaudry, author of The Resort that Time
Forgot, SKI Magazine, January, 2003.

In planning your trip, we recommend that
you consider the fine accommodations of the Ram's
Head Inn. This 14 room inn is within walking distance of the ski lifts
of Red Mountain and has comfortable and high quality lodging with friendly
and helpful innkeepers Greg and Tauna Butler.
Of course, we hope you will include a visit
to The Cellar while you are here, and we look forward to seeing you in town!
